Annabel and Hugh were determined to stick to their wedding date, even if that meant that most of their guests couldn’t come and there would be no reception.
The residents of Fairford, in Oxfordshire, were delighted though, because they hadn’t seen a wedding in their beautiful church since the start of COVID.
They all came out to watch and Annabel and Hugh, and their allotted 30 guests, as they completed their ceremony with all the church doors open before heading home to the Bride’s family home, the stunning Buscot Park.
No reception was possible after the wedding itself, but drink were taken in the garden and the bride (literally) rode off into the sunset.
Almost exactly a year later there was a rather more elaborate reception at Buscot Park, with several marquees and hundreds of guests.
We began that afternoon with some lovely portraits around Buscot, in places which were special to Annabel, before guests began to arrive and the more formal proceedings began.
The bride and groom were formally blessed in lieu of a wedding ceremony and then the party started.
