The other day I was prompted to look at the Web Archive for www.nicomorgan.com. An interesting experience because the various blog design trends are clearly visible and I am reminded of the sites I used to read daily who have long since been forgotten (by me) in favour of sites more relevant to me.
Have you had a site for a long time? Worth having a look to see if it has been archived for posterity!
Mine is not complete for a number of reasons:
- When I started blogging in 1999 I used Blogger, with a Blogger URL which has long since ceased to exist.
- At some point during my time at Blogger I purchased my own domain name but Archive.com doesn’t seem to go back that far.
- The end of March 2001 was the point at which I moved over to a system known as Greymatter, hence the early posts about it.
- In July 2010 my Photoshelter site is archived but then it appears to stop – I don’t know why!
